*Temperatures on goats may vary between 102 & 104 depending on the breed and individual goat.  As with people, a goat's individual temperature may differ slightly from the normal range.  If symptoms of distress (such as runny nose, cough, injury, etc.) are present and the goat's temperature range is still within the accepted "normal" range, steps should be taken to treat the animal for those symptoms.

Remember these are the average for a normal goat---this doesn't not mean that your goat has to conform exactly. They are individuals and will vary.

Homeopathic Remedies

How to use: They work on the principle of "Like cures Like". For example if one symptom of the patient's condition is streaming eyes a homeopathic practitioner will prescribe the remedy Allium, which is Onions. The remedies stimulate the bodies own defenses and work gently without side effects.
It is most important to remember that if you are giving the tablet to someone else (human or animal) you must NOT touch the tablet yourself or YOU will get the benefit of the remedy rather than the patient. So ALWAYS shake the tablet directly from the bottle onto a piece of bread, lettuce leaf etc.
Give one tablet once an hour for 3 hours a.m and the same p.m (so 6 doses on first day) then 3 times a day for 3 days but stop as soon as improvement is noticed. If there is no improvement after 3 days you probably need a different remedy.

This site is for informational purpose only and not intended to replace needed medical veterinary care. Most medications used to treat goats, whether they are prescription or over the counter, are "off label" or "extra label" usage. Very little medication exists that has been specifically formulated for use on goats. We have complied this information for the user due to that reason. We are NOT vets and this information is not intended to replace a vet.  Use the information provided in this article at your own risk and only after you have consulted with a veterinarian. We have compiled a list of what has worked for people in this forum on goats. The medications are presented in no particular order. I have not addressed withdrawal times for those producers concerned about meat and milk contamination. Products such as Gentamycin and Baytril may not be approved for use in animals intended for food, so it is ne. This site is created for the use of those involved in the carpine and animal husbandry.
