Someone contacted me about buck service. He has a few commercial Nubians he wants covered by a Boer.
Assuming he does not do testing I told him only for tested does.
So now he tells me he is having blood drawn.
I have not done CL or CAE test for years so I can't very well insist on his does being negative when none of my animals are current on theirs.
In truth I just don't want someone else's goats here & asking about testing I was sure would put him off.
So I guess I will have to eat humble pie. tongue

Well, Nancy...actually it isn't a bad thing.  If you view it as this man respects your wishes, and loves his herd enough to do as you have requested tells me that he's impressed with your Buck, and your management, and your blood lines, and well quite frankly, I would take this as a huge compliment instead of a burden.  If you have the space to allow his girls to come to you to be serviced, I'd consider it.  He's doing all he can to make sure to abide by your requests, so that tells me he's being a very responsible owner.  You never know, he may offer you a baby that is so awesome that it would bless your management and make you even more awesome than you already are. Thanks Pam you put some good perspective on the whole thing. Bob pretty much said go ahead & get a few dollars out of it.
I will just have to tell the gentleman that my bucks are not tested but have never covered outside does.
One year I spent a couple hundred dollars getting almost everyone done & that was home drawn & sent.

I did this one year for my husbands co worker.  His young son had 2 does and they were lovely girls.

I think it will all work out.  Let your heart lead you through it.  Can't go wrong with what the heart says. Smiley

Well I really like this guy & haven't met him yet. The contact today had to do with thanking me for my patience & that he has a friend who needs a breeding.
He even told me he got my  info from the county 4H leader whom I've never met.

DragonLair Farm and Kennel in Central Maine with Nubians, Lamanchas and Oberhasli. Of course, combinations of 2 or more breeds happens also.
