To all of us who have loved and lost..I wanted to share this with you, as it touches me deeply each time I read it.

GOD SAW YOU WERE GETTING TIRED
AND A CURE WAS NOT TO BE.
SO HE PUT HIS ARMS AROUND YOU
AND WHISPERED 'COME TO ME'

A GOLDEN HEART STOPPED BEATING.
HARD WORKING HOOVES NOW REST.

GOD BROKE OUR HEARTS TO PROVE TO US
HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST.

So many times I think of this poem when we've lost a pet.  Our loved ones have gone, our true friend has past..In God we trust, that we will see them once again when our time on earth has passed.  If they can't be here on earth with us, may God fill the heavens with the very best!

OH my!
I just came up on my cornish cross hen being killed by a red fox. It is so hard on me.  Thank you for these words.

This made me think of Peanut. <3

I found her old auction tag today in the dirt. When we got her in 2009 she had a bright yellow tag glued to her head. Once we got it off I put it on the fence, but it eventually blew away and got lost. Today I found it, after so long, bleached white except for her numbers, when I was doing my afternoon chores. I knew it had to be a sign from her that she was okay now. Now I have that little tag packed safe and sound in my goat paperwork box. That way I can see it every time I go in there.
